Condition

Original canvas. There are frame abrasions with minor associated paint loss along the edges. There is craquelure in places, mostly concentrated in the lower half of the picture. There is a small area of paint loss to the snow in the lower right corner. There are several surface scratches to the sky in the upper left as well as some minor scratches elsewhere. The surface is dirty and there are spots in places, most notably a drip to the centre of the top edge as well as to the snow in the foreground. Inspection under UV light reveals no obvious signs of retouching. Held in a simple gold painted wooden frame. Unexamined out of frame.
