Condition

The sheet has been attached to the mount along all four edges. The edges are uneven and the sheet is slightly rippling in places. There are two vertical creases running across the sheet towards the figure in blue and in the blue background along the left edge. There is a diagonal crease towards the upper middle of the composition as well as some further creasing along the edges and corners of the composition. There is a paper loss the upper right corner and a minor tear to the lower left edge. There are scratches and specks of paint loss scattered throughout. The surface is covered in a light layer of dirt with spots in places. Inspection under UV light reveals areas of retouching to the aforementioned creases, to all four corners, to the blue background along the lower edge, as well as some further spots of retouching to the feet and the dress of the figure in the middle. Held in a copper coated wooden frame behind Plexiglass. Unexamined out of frame.
