Condition

The sheet has discoloured in line with age. The top edge is slightly uneven. The edges and corners show signs of wear. There are two vertical tears to the top edge and a minor diagonal tear to the lower right corner which have been repaired. There is a diagonal tear and an associated loss to the upper right edge which has been restored.There are several pinholes scattered along the top edge, as well as one pinhole to the middle of the right edge and a tiny pinhole to the right of the figure's hip. There is creasing throughout, most notably in the corners and edges. There is a layer of surface dirt with spots in places. There is some incipient foxing scattered in places. The sheet has been hinged to the mound in two places along the top edge. Held in a carved gilt wooden frame behind Plexiglass. Unexamined out of frame.
