Condition

Original canvas which is slightly slack. There are frame abrasions with associated paint loss along the edges. There is craquelure throughout. Some faint surface scratches are visible in places and there is a dent above the grapes on the right. Some minor flecks of paint loss are visible in places. There is a layer of surface dirt with spots in places. Inspection under UV light reveals some minor scattered spots of retouching to the body of the reclining figure and the aforementioned dent, as well as a very discoloured layer of varnish. Held in a black and gold painted wooden frame. Unexamined out of frame.
