Condition
The canvas has been strip-lined and has a wax lining. There are frame abrasions along all four edges. There is a small area of circular craquelure in the lower right. Fine craquelure is visible elsewhere, most noticeably two lines of very fine cracks to the water. There are minor surface scratches in places. Inspection under UV light reveals delicate retouching to the centre of the canvas, to the snow left of the water, as well as a few very small spots in the sky. Held in a gold painted frame. Unexamined out of frame.
