Condition

The canvas has been lined. There is craquelure throughout, which appears stable at present. There are scattered areas of paint loss throughout, most notably several large areas running horizontally across the centre of the work. There are further relatively large areas of paint loss to the kneeling figure in the foreground as well as to the lower left edge. These losses have been inpainted but are visible to the naked eye upon close examination. Inspection under UV light reveals the aforementioned areas of retouching. Held in a gold and black wooden frame. Unexamined out of frame.
