Condition

The canvas has been lined. The are fine lines of craquelure in places, mostly limited to the area of the sky. There are some abrasions with minor associated paint loss to the edges. UV light reveals a thin line of retouching along the left edge over a stretcher bar and a line along the top edge and a small area to the sky in the upper right. The signature appears to lie under an old layer of varnish but may have been strengthened at some point in the past. Held in a simple gold-painted frame. Unexamined out of frame.
