Catalogue Note
The composition of the present lot appears to be related to an engraving by August Cadolle (1782–1849) which was widely published during the 19th century. Depicted from left to right are a late 17th century refectory church, an 18th century bell tower by Ukhtomsky, the Dormition Church commissioned by Ivan the Terrible and the main entrance to the monastic complex.
