Pile varies from low 1mm to knotheads and foundation generally. Carpet has been reduced in length as is visible by the stepped cut in lower corners and horizontally along the top of the lower border. As visible from photograph, there are several later patches of complete re-weave, visible as lighter vertical strips in the image. Along the vertical axis through the centre there are cobbled repairs from old fold damage, clearly visible in the photograph. There are scattered repairs throughout. Later blue re-overcast sidecords. Both ends overlocked with losses. On the shabby side, but an honest - and old - carpet fragment.
