Condition

Overall measurements: 274cm across the top, 273cm across the bottom, 420cm the left hand side, 413cm the right hand side. Finely woven, generally evenly closely sheared 2-3mm pile. Fine flexible weave. With some localised areas of wear to knotheads in the crimson half medallions on each side and in the spandrels, possibly associated with oxidisation? Lower right spandrel with very well executed re-weave, approx 12 by 8cm and another in the guard stripes in the upper end approx. 8 by 4cm. These are almost invisible from the face of the carpet. Taupe ground of guards oxidised, with very minor re-piling. Sides re-overcast and ends with trimmed fringing and ends overlocked. A good quality traditional Persian weaving.
