Description

  • approximately 208 by 170cm; 6ft. 10in., 5ft. 7in.
  • circa 1880

Condition

Overall measurements: 168cm across the top, 171cm across the bottom, 205cm vertically through the middle, 198cm the left hand side, 198cm the right hand side. In very good condition overall. Pile approximately 3mm in depth, even. Dark browns have oxidised. Densely woven but flexible handle. Evidence of some old damage in top right hand corner, probably old moth as there is some localised re-piling and the outermost upper right hand corner corner of the camel surround is rewoven, approx 10cm in each direction. Camel ground is probably natural camel hair. Would probably benefit from a professional clean. Ends have been stopped and some minor areas of inserted warp fringing. Very pretty colours and very unusual size.
