Condition

Overall measurements: 237cm across the top, 236cm across the bottom, 285cm the left hand side, 293cm the right hand side. Reduced in size. Pile generally good for age approximately 3mm in depth with areas of localised wear (or possibly insect damage?) as visible in the illustration as white patches of foundation. A cobbled repair approximately 4 by 4cm in the second row of arabesques from the bottom, and another approximately 3cm in diameter above the middle of the lower border. There are some cobbled repairs along the join adjacent to the upper border and an inserted patch approximately 8 by 7cm into the centre of the lower border, with two further small patches in the lower quarter of the field. There are some scattered strengthening patches to the reverse. Sections of lower outer guard stripe missing as visible from the image. The upper border pieced, likely from other sections of the same carpet. Carpet would benefit from a professional clean and some judicious conservation. Very pretty with lovely lucid colour.
