Provenance

Given by Archduke Frédéric of Austria to his daughter, Archduchess Marie Anne of Austria on the occasion of her wedding to Prince Elie de Bourbon Parme in 1903.

Princess Marie Anne de Bourbon Parme mentions in her inventory:

"Un écrin rouge écarlate (Schwarz und Steiner) avec pendeloques en diamants à porter avec les boutons ci-dessus. Ces pendeloques m'ont été données par mon père pour mon mariage". 

[A scarlet case (Schwarz und Steiner) with diamond pendants to be worn together wit the studs mentioned above (lot 71). These pendants were given by my father for my wedding].

Catalogue Note

Archduchess Marie Anne of Austria wore this pair of pendants with the earrings (lot 70) for the ball on the day of her wedding to Prince Elie de Bourbon Parme.
