Description

Of openwork design millegrain-set throughout with circular- and single-cut diamonds, centering a claw-set cushion-shaped ruby weighing 1.82 carats, within a frame of circular-cut diamonds, ruby and diamond cluster 19th century, surrounding mount circa 1910, hook and hinged back fitting.

Condition

Accompanied by SSEF report no. 95655, stating that the cushion-shaped ruby, weighing 1.82 carats, measuring 7.46 x 6.48 x 3.65mm, is of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating. Ruby, pinkish red of medium saturation with typical inclusions, abrasions and nicks to facet edges. Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 2.40 - 2.60 carats, on average H-J colour, VS-SI clarity, as gauged and graded in the mount. Scratches to the metal consistent with age and normal use. In good condition. Gross weight approximately 9 grams.
