Provenance

The pendant, formerly a charm from a bracelet, was given to Archduchess Marie Anne of Austria (1882-1940) by her husband Prince Elie de Bourbon-Parme (1880-1959), on the occasion of their engagement.

The brooch was formerly in the collection of Queen Marie Christine of Spain (1858-1929), née Archduchess of Austria.

Princess Marie Anne de Bourbon Parme states in her inventory:

"Une épingle en diamants, la tête gros rubis entouré de diamants, 4 petits rubis. Provenant d'un cadeau de la Reine Marie Christine d'Espagne". [A diamond pin, the top set with a large ruby framed by diamonds and 4 small rubies. A gift from Queen Marie Christine of Spain].
