A Meissen (Marcolini) porcelain double-portrait cup, cover and stand
the reeded cup with key-pattern handle, the domed cover with wreath finial, the body reserved in relief with two oval portrait panels, painted with portraits of Henri IV and Maximilien de Béthune, duc de Sully, bust-length, in profile to left and right, the ground alternating blue and plain bands below a frieze of grotesques and winged masks, the stand titled in gilt to the center within a tied oak leaf and berried myrtle, within a similar border, crossed swords and star marks in underglaze blue, inventory mark 13. in red enamel to saucer
