Description

  • 14cm. & 16 cm. 5½in. and 6¼in. high
the engraved silvered dial signed A: Liszt in Wien, the 4-train movement cylinder escapement, plain steel balance mounted on the back plate, with alarm and grande sonnerie striking on two gongs, foliate engraved case; together with a Viennese Empire gilt-brass repeating carriage clock, circa 1830, with unsigned engine turned dial and similar movement, the drum case with scroll supports and concave-sided platform base; both clocks with original leather travelling cases, (2)

Condition

Clock 1: Dial is dirty with marks and scratches. Movement is complete but not running and will require cleaning and service. Case in generally good condition, front glass chipped. Travelling case generally good with old scuffs and marks. No winder. Clock 2: Dial is dirty, numerals are rubbed. Movement appears to be complete but is dirty and not running, it will require cleaning and service. Case appears to retain the original gilding but is dirty. travelling case has old scuffs and marks throughout. With a winder.
