Description

  • The largest: 25.5 cm, 10 in.
comprising a pair of gu form vases painted with various bogu (precious objects and antiques) and stylised florets all between a key-fret border at the rim and foot, a pair of baluster vases depicting court dignitaries in a courtyard, and a pair of ewers decorated with large floral blossoms issuing from craggy rockwork

Condition

Both ewers have restoration to the top and bottom of the handle and to approximately half of the rim and spout and one has a circa 2cm., firing hairline to the base; the pair of beakers are in good condition with the exception of a 3cm., and 1cm., hairline rim crack to one, a 5cm., firing hairline running around the other beakers footring with associated tiny chips, and a 1.5cm., bruise to the same footring with associated small glaze flake; the pair of vases are in good condition with the exception of a 2mm., rim chip to one. All with minor glaze firing imperfections and light glaze scratches.
