the oval slate top painted with a troika, the ends with initials M and G (Cyrillic), within an engraved gilt decorated border, on a carved giltwood base

Commissioned by Mstislav Rostropovich and Galina Vishnevskaya for their Paris residence.

Condition

Overall in good condition. Table top: Very minor chips, scratches and old marks consistent with age and use. Base: Some cracks, chips, old marks and scratches consistent with age and use. Minor losses to gilding and silvering throughout. Decorative and ready to place.
