2 volumi, folio (337x230 mm.), I vol.: 77 tavole incise numerate di cui 20 ripiegate e una infratesto, II vol.: 57 tavole numerate (di cui 42 ripiegate e due tabelle ripiegate; in un’unica carta sono riprodotte la 24 e 25; saltata la 56), antiporte figurate incise su entrambi i volumi, stemma papale di Alessandro VIII sul frontespizio del vol. I, testatine e iniziali xilografiche, testo su due colonne, tavole talvolta invertite di numerazione, margini con barbe, legatura in cartoncino coevo con titoli, autore e numero volume manoscritti ai dorsi, esemplare fresco, sporadiche e lievi fioriture ai margini, piccoli segni di restauro su alcune carte

PRIMA EDIZIONE di quest’imponente opera la cui seconda parte venne stampata postuma nel 1699. Opera corredata dal ricco apparato iconografico di tavole incise. Opera di straordinaria importanza e preziosa per lo studio e la documentazione dei mosaici romani e paleocristiani, soprattutto per gli edifici ora decaduti.
