To the naked eye :
The painting seems to be in a good condition.
It is painted on a softwood plank with 3 wooden reinforcements nailed to the original panel. On the reverse, we can notice some pieces of canvas laid on the panel, together with old nails.
Some paint losses in the golden background, some of them being cracks, and especially a 30 cm vertical crack on the top right corner.
We can observe a 1 cm diameter loss by the Sainte’ halo, and two 1 cm losses on the left border near the rosary. We can see some losses on the bottom, all visible on the photograph of the catalogue.
A lot of retouchings are visible towards the face and on the black coat.
Under UV light :
We can notice a lot of scattered retouchings, already mentioned to the naked eye.
