The complete book, comprising two aquatints and four engravings, with text by Ilia Zdanevitch (Iliazd), 1940, signed in pencil by the artist and the author on the justification page and stamp-numbered 2, from the total edition of 64, unbound and tied with string (as issued), on Montval wove paper, printed by Lacourière, Paris, published by Le Degré Quarante et Un, Paris, contained in the original parchment covered boards and brown paper-covered slipcase (6 prints)

Condition

The book is in good condition. The sheets are full. The page order does not match that outlined in Cramer and several sheets of text have not been cut along the upper sheet edge. Several sheets with an occasional tiny pale fox mark visible on close inspection or small soft crease in the margins. Faint discoloration along some of the sheet edges. Plate 4 inscribed '11/60' in pencil in another hand in the lower left corner and with a small spot of thinned paper in the image at left. The parchment wrapper with faint traces of surface soiling and a few spots of slight wear to the edges. The slipcase splitting in spots along the seams and with scuffing.
