Catalogue Note

Beard's beautiful multilayered, mixed-media diaries and prints are extremely personal works which relate to important environmental issues for the industrialised world we live in. His most famous book, The End Game, 1965, was the product of his involvement with Kenya’s Tsavo National Park, where he photographed the demise of elephants and Black Rhinos. This work launched his career and asserted his position as an artist and and activist.
