Provenance

Anonymous sale, London, Christie's, 29 July 1929, lot 68, for £15–15s. to S. Wylie.

Condition

The panel is uncradled, made up of a single plank and is flat and stable. The paint surface is clean and the varnish is clear and even. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals retouchings scattered along all four edges and a few in the sky and ground, but otherwise the work is in very good condition. Offered in a carved and gilt wood frame with minor losses.
