Condition

The copper plate is stable and very slightly undulating, which is visible under raking light. The paint surface is clean and the varnish is discoloured and uneven. There is a small spot of paint loss approx. 0.5cm below the centre right of the upper edge, as well as 3 tiny spots along the upper left edge. Inspection underneath ultraviolet light reveals a milky varnish underneath which retouchings are visible mainly scattered in the background upper centre and in the table. In overall good condition. Offered in a carved and gilt wood frame in very good condition.
