Condition
The canvas is lined, the paint surface is dirty, and the varnish is discoloured. The network of craquelure has become more pronounced in areas, most notably the yellow dress of the figure lower centre, and the dark pigments centre and lower left. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals scattered retouchings to reduce the effect of craquelure in the areas just mentioned, as well as along all four edges, and scattered in the corners, and more concentrated lines in the sky and the figure in the white dress, upper centre. None of these impede the legibility of the image, which is ready to hang. Offered in a plain, painted wooden frame with losses.
