Condition

The uncradled panel is made up of two vertical planks, and is slightly bowed. The paint surface is slightly dirty and appears worn throughout. There are a few vertical cracks with associated visible retouching starting from the lower edge, two of which continue through Christ's body, and further visible retouchings throughout. The upper corners of the panel have been quite clearly made up. Inspection under ultraviolet light confirms this fairly extensive campaign of restoration, most notably in the figures' faces. In overall moderate condition. Offered in a carved and gilt wood frame.
