Condition

The copper plate is flat and stable. The paint surface is mostly clean and the varnish clear and even. There is a diagonal surface scratch across the lower half of Christ's body, approx. 2 cm. long, as well as a retouched diagonal surface scratch in the lower section of the arch centre left, approx. 1.5 cm. long. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals this, as well as small, scattered old retouchings, most notably to the right of the doorway, centre right. In overall good condition. Offered in plain, ebonised wood frame in very good condition.
