Condition

The panel consists of a single uncradled plank bevelled on all four edges. The paint surface is relatively clean but the varnish layer is discoloured. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals two campaigns of scattered re-touchings in the sky, chiefly concentrated in the upper corners. The water and architecture remain untouched and overall the painting is in good condition. Offered in a modern carved and gilt wood frame in good condition, some minor losses and evidence of old woodworm.
