Overall, the condition of the wood is good, with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. The relief is made in two sections, and a vertical joint is slightly visible to the centre. There is some evidence of past worming in areas. There is minor stable splitting to the wood, including to the top edge. There is a small later wood insert to the top edge of the relief, and a small wood reinforcement has been applied to the reverse.
