  • partially enamelled copper, with traces of gilding, in a red velvet lined ebonised wood frame
  • corpus: 17 by 13cm., 6 5/8  by 5 1/8 in.frame: 30 by 26cm., 11¾ by 10¼in.
with four labels inscribed respectively with variations of: Bxl / Abbé Ducarme / Mons /1; another inscribed: Collection de / l'Abbé Joseph DUCARME / curé de Ste Elisabeth / 1 rue de la Biche / Mons; and a detailed catalogue entry titled: Christ roman and inscribed: Enghien Exposition 1964, all to the reverse of the frame

Condition

Overall, the condition of the corpus is good, with some dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There are small losses to the enamel in areas. There is rubbing to the surface, in particular to the torso and the feet. The proper right hand has been replaced at the wrist, and the top half of the proper left hand has been replaced. The later wood and velvet base is in very good condition.
