Overall the condition is good, with dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There are a few minor losses to the ironwork, in particular to the front to the bottom corners, and to the right side of the casket at the centre. There is rubbing to the wrought iron in areas, particularly to the high points of the lid. There is evidence of past worming to the core. There is some stable splitting to the wood, consistent with the material.
