Catalogue Note

With its pronounced eyebrows and heavy-lidded eyes, this figure of Christ can be compared to carvings from the circle of the Master of Elsloo (active circa 1510-1530). Compare figures of the three apostles and a figure of Christ as Salvator Mundi in Museum Catharijneconvent, inv. nos. ABM bh289-92, which also show drapery in similar square folds, particular the figure of Judas Thaddeus.
