Condition

Overall, the condition of the coconut cup is very good, with dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. The cup is slightly loose within its mounts. There is minor stable splitting to the coconut, consistent with the material, including a small split to the top of the crucifixion scene. The copper is slightly warped at the top rim of the cup and the lower rim of the cover. There are small dents and some greening to the cover. The condition of the walnut flask is good, with minor dirt and some wear to the surface consistent with age. There is some stable splitting to the wood, consistent with the material, including two slightly open splits to either side of the flask. The turned foot is slightly loose and there are minor chips to the base. The top unscrews from the flask. There is some tarnishing to the mounts. The cup is in good condition overall, with minor dirt and wear to the surface. There is minor tarnishing to the silver mounts in areas. The mount around the base is slightly loose, but stable. There is some staining to the wood at the top of the cup where it meets the silver mount. There is minor stable splitting to the wood, consistent with the material.
