Condition
There is a loss to the bottom right corner of the central panel. The grain of the bone is visible throughout and the surface has darkened, in particular to the central panel. There is also warping to each panel. The grain has become slightly porous, in particular on the two outer panels. There is some greyish residue to the porous grain on the reverse of the central panel. There are a few small holes to the panels for previous mounting, and a few metal mounts remain in the outer panels. There is rubbing to the blackened engraving, notably to the face of the saint on the left side. The panels are held in place with white thread. There is general wear to the fabric lined leather box, including fraying to the velvet and scratches and abrasions to the leather. There is a loss to the metal hook at the front, preventing the the box from being securely closed.
