Condition

The panel has a minor horizontal bow that is barely noticeable, and is cradled on the reverse. A decorative image reads well. There are three thin cracks that run horizontally, the first on the upper right corner, the second on the sky at top center, and the third on the windmill in the center of the work. There are small losses scattered here and there on the background, like on the sky near the center left edge, and on the foreground along the bottom edge. What appears to be an area with old water damage is faintly visible at the bottom right corner. Inspection under UV shows an uneven varnish that is hard to read, though there probably are scattered spots of retouching here and there. Offered in an elaborately carved giltwood frame with some nicks throughout and a small loss at canter right.
