Catalogue Note

Although this sheet, a characteristic example of Moucheron's Italianate landscape drawings, was unknown to Nina Wedde when she published her 1994 catalogue raisonné on the artist, it can be very closely compared on both stylistic and compositional grounds to another signed sheet by the artist, previously on the Amsterdam art market in 1983.
