Catalogue Note

Pieter Holsteyn the Younger was a Dutch engraver and glass painter from Haarlem, who also worked in both Zwolle and Munster.  Trained by his father, Pieter Holsteyn the Elder, he is most celebrated for his series of bird studies that record the collection of exotic birds owned by Agneta Block (1629-1704).

Other examples of Pieter Holsteyn the Younger's bird studies were offered from The Unicorno Collection in Amsterdam in 2004.1
