Clearly the work of an eccentric mannerist draftsman, this drawing could well be by a Bolognese master. It is somewhat reminiscent of the style of Sammacchini, but the spirited and intricate handling of the pen and ink is that of another, very individual artistic personality.
Window mounted on a decorative paper backing which has subsequently been hinged to a modern mount. There is evidence of some slight toning to the sheet and a small repaired tear to the lower left corner. The pen and brown ink has very fractionally sunk in places, however the overall image remains strong, with the pen work crisp.Sold in a modern giltwood frame.
