Condition
The current mounting of the work does not allow the viewer to determine whether or not the sheet is partially laid down or possibly window mounted. There are two openings to the reverse of the mount that allow the viewer to see a portion of the verso of the sheet as well as a section below containing Rudolf's collectors mark. The sheet itself has discoloured somewhat and there is some minor scattered staining throughout. There are some old creases to the upper right corner and a small crease to the centre of the lower edge, probably created when the work was mounted. There is a small pin prick hole to the base of the left foot.
The pen and ink medium remains predominantly fresh and the image strong. Sold in a modern imitation darkwood frame.

Catalogue Note
The present work shows the influence that Maganza had on his student Maffei, however the wash and penmanship are very reminiscent of Maffei’s individual style.
