  • Nelson. Three English enamel pill boxes, circa 1800 and later

  • each 4cm; 1 1/2 in. wide
oval, each with pale blue base, one lobed, its lid printed and coloured with a martial trophy and the inscription: Nelson and British Gratitude, the others painted with ships and inscribed: Nelson & Victory, extensive restoration

Condition

All with exterior soft-painted and reglazed, two with original mirrors damaged and cracked; the third with original mount but lid, mirror and base replaced and restored.
