Mother and Child with horses: The canvas is lined, the paint surface is relatively clean and the varnish is slightly discoloured. There is a small spot where dirt has accumulated upper centre at the top of the leaves. There is some craquelure with associated very light lifting of the paint in the sky upper right, as well as a handful of tiny spots of paint loss scattered along all four margins. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals a thick varnish underneath which it is difficult to discern much, but some small areas of retouchings are visible, particularly in the sky upper right, along the right margin, contouring the animals centre right, and a handful scattered throughout the rest of the composition. In overall good condition. Herdsman with cattle: The canvas is lined, the paint surface is relatively clean and the varnish is slightly discoloured. There are a handful of tiny spots of paint loss scattered along all four margins.
