Description

  • Gilt-bronze, oak, kingwood, tulipwood
  • 127.5cm. high, 51cm. wide, 28cm. deep; 4ft. 2½in., 1ft. 8in., 11in.
the three-quarter pierced gallery above a bombe drawer and six further drawers, on canted corners and cabriole legs; with later bronze mounts

Condition

In country house condition and would benefit from further restoration. The top with a repaired break to the centre, there is consolidation to the underside and cracking and scratches to the surface. The top drawer with working lock mechanism but there is damage to the timber fitting which would benefit from attention. The locks from the third to sixth drawers down are later. Some cracks and losses to the veneer, most notably to the top, canted corners and geometric inlay of the drawers. With marks and scratches overall, consistent with age and use. Bronzes later, re-gilt and loose.
