Description

  • Gilt-bronze, marble, oak, kingwood, rosewood
  • 84.5cm. high, 96cm wide, 47.5cm. deep; 2ft. 9½in., 3ft. 1¾in., 1ft. 7in.
the associated moulded mottled black and white fossilised marble top above two short drawers and one long drawer; re-mounted

Condition

In country house condition. There are mall losses to the veneer overall. There is a crude repair to the veneer on the back left leg, the loose veneer held in place by scotch tape. The bronze has evidence of remounting and has resulted in some movement and cracking to the veneer, most notably a larger vertical crack to the right hand panel and another to the upper right hand drawer, both are visible partially in the catalogue image. The marble top probably associated but with some age. The commode is ready to use but may benefit from cosmetic consolidation.
