Description
- Giltwood, mirror glass
- 101cm. high, 53cm. wide; 3ft. 3 3/4in., 1ft. 8 3/4in.
the bevelled plate within a moulded frame with arched top surmounted by carved feathers, eagle's heads and scrolling foliage; re-gilt
Condition
In overall good restored condition. The feathers and left eagle to the cresting have repaired breaks and one of the marginal plates has recently been re-attached. There is movement to joints along the lines of construction, as such, the gilt leaf clasps to the marginal plates have split resulting in losses. The surface has been re-gilt at some stage and generally there are minor chips and loses throughout consistent with age and use.
