Condition

Original canvas and undulates slightly in the corners. The surface appears dirty. Some craquelure visible in lower left corner and some spots of paint loss in sea below the ship, visible in the catalogue illustration. The varnish is uneven and there appear to be some signs of discoloured retouching in the sky upper right. Held in gilt plaster frame.
