The canvas is original. The canvas undulates slightly in places. There appears to be an historic repair towards the upper edge, in the upper right quadrant. There is a match-head sized fleck of loss in light pigment in the upper right quadrant. There are one or two very fine lines of craquelure scattered throughout the picture, only visible upon extremely close inspection. There is some reticulation throughout the black pigment in the lower left quadrant. This excepting the work appears to be in very good overall condition.
Inspection under ultra violet light confirms the presence of the restoration in the upper right corner, and displays some variation in the varnish.
The work is held within a wooden slip, and a larger, painted wooden box frame.
