Condition
The canvas is original. There are some fine lines of cracking along the edges of the canvas around the stretcher. There is some craquelure to the thicker areas of impasto. There is some reticulation throughout the dark pigment in the upper left quadrant, and some further reticulation and craquelure in one of the longer sweeping brushstrokes in the lower left quadrant. There is a possible loss in the extreme upper right corner in the dark pigment. There is some craquelure in the white pigment in the lower right corner. There is some surface dirt and studio detritus. This excepting the work appears to be in good overall condition. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals areas of fluorescence, which appear in keeping with the nature of the Artist's materials and do not suggest retouching.
