Condition
The canvas has been lined. There are scattered small flecks of loss to the extreme edges of the work. There are a small number of historic and consolidated isolated fine lines of cracking, only visible upon close inspection. There is a fine vertical scratch at the extreme lower edge towards the lower left corner. There is a faint scuff towards the upper left corner. There is some light surface dirt and studio detritus in places. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals evidence of a historic and restored vertical tear just below the centre, with further scattered spots of retouching to the work. The work is held in a painted wooden frame. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
