The work is in good condition overall. There is wear along the edges of the work along with two small spots of paint losses (next to the man's face and the pole) Examination under ultraviolet light shows minor retouching on the pole, the man's head, a small spot on the rooster, the branches on the top left corner, a few hairline touch ups sprinkled on the bottom left corner, a few minuscule spots on the man's back and on the bottom right corner.
